"Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania and a Board-Certified Music Therapist. I received my Master's degree from Marywood University and have worked in a therapist capacity for about 10 years. I primarily work with adults, children, and teens who have experienced difficult or traumatic events. My therapy sessions provide a safe and nurturing environment, providing space to explore difficult topics with a compassionate and understanding professional. I believe that true healing occurs within the context of a supportive and empathetic relationship, and I will commit to walking alongside my clients every step of the way. I use an eclectic approach working with clients. My main treatment methods are ACT, mindfulness, MI, TF-CBT, trauma-informed, somatic work and music therapy. I am undergoing the process of getting trained in EMDR and can currently provide this method as a trainee under supervision to those interested.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect to be welcomed with a warm and friendly attitude in your first session. Focus is made on ensuring that trust and safety is established so that a healthy therapeutic relationship can develop. You will have an opportunity to take a deep dive into the specific struggles that you are facing. From here, we will discuss and craft a plan that includes your expectations and goals to help you get the most out of your time in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I offer an approach that transcends conventional methods by integrating the brian, body and soul in the journey towards recovery and healing. In addition to traditional therapeutic modalities, I incorporate practices such as music therapy, mindfulness and somatic-based interventions to cultivate a sense of wholeness and connection.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with those who have struggled with traumatic pasts and have gone through a difficult life event. My clients struggle with anxiety, depression, or substance abuse issues as a result of trauma or a difficult life event. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed, or mentally drained. My clients may be searching for the help, guidance, or method needed to allow them to live a life of meaning and purpose. Difficult life events impact all ages, and I utilize effective methods for any age.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy that I use to emphasize the acceptance of difficult thoughts and emotions while encouraging clients to take committed action towards their values.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I use this specialized form of therapy designed to help children and adolescents who have experienced traumatic events.

Motivational Interviewing

MI allows for a collaborative approach to the therapy process. This creates the opportunity to find the motivation and commitment to make a positive change. I use this approach for those that primarily have difficulties with addiction or substance abuse.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I approach your experiences without judgment. Taking a step to engage in therapy can be difficult. I ensure that you are supported, heard and understood.

Somatic

I have found that working with a mind-body connection can be essential in understanding mental health and helping someone heal from difficult or traumatic events. I used somatic-based exercises rooted in polyvagal theory to help clients find rest, relaxation and healing.
