What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First session would include going over a few assessments, getting history of client and what brought client in for counseling. The session will end with a verbal care plan of what the goals of what the client is wanting to get out of therapy. First session will give an overview of what future sessions will look like and really getting to know the client and build rapport.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a very easy going and a good mix of upbeat, straight forward and relaxed personality. I am non-judgemental, humorous, and very person-centered. I am really about adapting and adjusting to what my clients need from me. I am not a "one style of treatment or approach fits all" type of therapist. I would say my greatest strength is the ability to adapt and adjust to my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

The basic principle behind this therapy is always the same regardless of the presenting issue: What we think, how we feel and how we behave are all closely connected – and all of these factors have a decisive influence on our well-being. When utilizing this treatment we look at how your thoughts, feelings and behaviors are connected and how we can change them to develop better outcomes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Helping my clients accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful and maladaptive behaviors

Faith based therapy

Faith Based Therapy is for my Christian clients. I am a Christian myself and though I do not limit my clientele with only seeing christians I do provide christian counseling for those upon request. Faith Based Therapy looks more at the problems/concerns/issues/diagnosis my clients are dealing with and refer to the Bible how to address the presenting problem(s). Faith Based Therapy still includes pscyhoeducational teachings and evidenced based practices but I incorporate and refer to the Bible as well.

EMDR

I provide what's called ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) which is similar to EMDR however, instead of needing several sessions to resolve trauma we only would need one and in some cases maybe two - three session max. ART is something I use not only for Trauma but also for addictions, eating disorders, general anxiety, social anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD/ADD and especially for elite and professional athletes who struggle with mental challenges or blocks that prevents them from preforming in the game.
