Hello! I'm Kelly. I was born and raised in Southern Illinois. I grew up in a military family and so have a sense of understanding of how community can help. I received my MSW in Social Work from SIU Edwardsville in 2013 and got my LCSW in 2017. I have worked with children in all different settings since 2014. The LGBTQ community has been a part of my practice, especially when working in the most rural of areas. I have helped children and adults with different diagnoses over the course of my career and continue growing in my knowledge of how to serve each individual.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I tell everyone when we first start I am a very weird person. My main goal is to make each individual feel comfortable and safe, and that means helping you understand that it is okay to be you! We will have to do some paperwork so we have a direction of where we are going, but it can be done in a fun and relaxing kind of way.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I will never judge you. Let me say that again. Whatever you say to me, I will not judge or be mad at you. I am here for you and work hard to earn your trust.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
Due to a conflict of interest, I am unable to see anyone referred or in services with DCFS. I love working with youth and young adults. Those who struggle with their anger, depression, school life, and even family conflict and relationships.
