Hi! My name is Mimi. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Art Therapist. I attended Albertus Magnus College and SCSU. I have been in practice for 12 years and more in the public sector. I like to help people who struggle with what may feel like great obstacles find positive changes and the best version of themselves. In a non-judgmental environment, we look at the issues and find individual goals, solutions that fit, and your personal change plan in collaboration to increase the quality of your life. Using supportive and motivational therapies to explore issues, I work with you to create positive changes, no matter what issues, short or long-term.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we'll start with introductions. Then, we'll go over some background information. I will also explain what you can expect. I will discuss with you what you look for goals in therapy, understanding that it may change. We'll look at what may be helpful to you and how in therapy. We'll get started.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have many years of experience using good therapies and thinking outside the box to find the path to your wellness goals. I have extensive training and experience to assist you. This means that I can clarify and be goal-directed in therapy so that you can move forward in the process.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have used EMDR with clients for nine years. I am an EMDRIA-trained therapist. EMDR is an evidenced-based therapy that is highly effective in treating single complex traumatic events and also many other issues like anxiety, grief, panic attacks, and more. I use a website that is HIPPA-compliant for EMDR sessions online. Clients do not need to leave the comfort of their homes.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have experience with using DBT for more than ten years. DBT is an evidence-based therapy that is effective for many issues. DBT Mindfulness is something that I like to suggest for many as it is helpful is many situations.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is another helpful evidence-based therapy that I have trained in and used for many years. To be able to start thinking about situations differently and start noticing our stuck points tends to be very helpful.
