Hi, I'm Monica! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and have been involved in social work for eight years. Most of my career has been helping children, parents, and families in child welfare. Perhaps you know exactly what issue is popping up for you, but you might not! I am here to help you become more self-aware, build self-esteem, and bridge the gap between unwelcomed behaviors and the thoughts leading there. I am keen at picking up on patterns and relaying them back to you, which you may or may not have been aware of. I do not have a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Also, while I'm able to meet you where you're at in life, I believe that you're coming to therapy for a reason, which is typically to grow in an area of your life. I may push you to think about your growth, which can be new and uncomfortable. I am always seeking to understand and hear you; I do not judge or make assumptions about you. ** I have additional availability, please reach out to me to see if we can match a good time. **
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session, we'll start with introductions, but also identify problem areas to focus on. We will spend many sessions talking about your background, including childhood, family dynamics, past relationships, and current situation.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I am a strong listener and incorporate realism and humor into our work.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I like working with all adults, especially new parents and couples, who notice problems that arise in every day life. Ideally, I like when clients come to me and are ready to hear new ideas about their thoughts and behaviors and are ready to make change.
