Mary is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor with over thirty years of experience working with adults with substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, and relationship problems. Mary is also a Certified, Level Three, TEAM, Cognitive and Behavioral Therapist, through the Feeling Good Institute. Mary begins therapy by developing a warm and friendly connection with clients, so they feel comfortable and at ease. When the client is ready to get started, she helps them develop a treatment plan using simple and effective CBT techniques. Mary practices meditation daily and brings a broad range of mindfulness techniques into her practice.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will ask about why you have come to seem. Then we will do a comprehensive assessment to make sure I understand all the important things about you. I will give you a "Brief Mood Survey" which will tell me how strong your symptoms are. Then we will set some goals for treatment. I will also ask you if you have any questions about me or the work I do.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Mary practices a specialized and highly effective form of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy called TEAM CBT. TEAM CBT was created by Dr. David Burns a Stanford Psychiatrist. If clients would like to know more about Mary's training, they can go to feelinggood.com and read about the research that went into developing the model. They can also read Dr. Burns's most recent book "Feeling Great." Mary has a Bio on the Feeling Good Institute website.
