Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in EMDR. I use this evidence-based somatic modality to help people heal unresolved wounds from their past. EMDR trauma therapy is a gentle yet effective way to unravel the complex trauma web so you can resolve old wounds and move forward with your life. With an informal and engaging style, I enjoy building authentic connections with my clients. I truly believe laughter is the best medicine, and tears are a necessary part of the healing process.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session together, I will spend time getting to know you, your communication style, and where you are at with your personal journey. I also may disclose about my own life and journey more than most people are used to because this builds trust and rapport which is the only way to truly create an emotionally safe space where you can address and resolve your trauma.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
With a trauma informed and culturally sensitive lens, I have addressed a wide range of issues and psychiatric disorders including women’s issues, LGBTQ issues, grief and loss, trauma, stress management, PTSD, depression and anxiety. I have helped numerous people navigate the challenges of daily living, freeing themselves from destructive patterns and negative beliefs. I am dedicated to helping you improve the quality of your relationships, and find balance in how you approach your life no matter what phase of life you are in.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I love working with young professionals who are working on self-actualization and differentiating from family of origin trauma or programming. I tend to work best with people who have an East/West sensibility and I bring yoga philosophy and mindfulness into the practice. I have a quirky sense of humor and I will probably make you laugh (either at me or with me!).
