I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed to see clients in New Jersey and Wisconsin. I earned my Masters Degree in Psychology from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have extensive experience working with a diverse population of adults and adolescents. I believe my role my role as a therapist is to listen, understand and to help you feel emotionally safe and accepted. I believe that we all have strengths and my goal is to help you identify what they are so you can become the best version of yourself. I enjoyed working out, exercising, cooking spending time with my family and rescue Border Collie German Shepard mix.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is designed for us to get to know each other. We generally start with a brief introduction and an overview my approach to therapy. I will then ask questions that will be useful in creating a mutually agreed plan to approach therapy. We then focus on specifics related to the concerns , that motivated you to seek therapy and ultimately identify your treatment goals and what you hope to achieve during our time together.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I truly believe my purpose is to help others. I want clients to learn to gain self-compassion and understand about themselves without judgement. When working with clients, I understand that the most important aspect is to establish a mutually trusting and respectful relationship. I appreciate the courage and vulnerability it takes to ask for assistance and I do not take your trust for granted. Your autonomy and individuality are respected.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with the Beck Institute and have been using this method of therapy for the past fifteen years. CBT helps people with anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. During our session, we will use CBT to help you to identify and challenge negative thoughts and override them with more realistic and effective thought processes. Overtime, you will begin to notice a shift in thinking patterns, which will help reduce mental health symptoms and lessen life stress.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT and have successfully worked with clients for over fifteen years. DBT is a great option to treat anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and substance addiction. I am trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and have used this therapy approach for over fifteen years. I used this approach to help client develop skills to regulate intense emotions, manage stressful thoughts and improve behaviors and identify interfering behaviors to make life worth living.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I have integrated Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT) with different treatment approaches. ACT focuses on providing techniques to accept difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences as appropriate responses to life challenges so they can begin to move forward in their lives.
