I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), licensed to see clients in New Jersey and Wisconsin. I earned my Masters Degree in Psychology from Alverno College in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I have extensive experience working with a diverse population of adults and adolescents. I believe my role my role as a therapist is to listen, understand and to help you feel emotionally safe and accepted. I believe that we all have strengths and my goal is to help you identify what they are so you can become the best version of yourself. I enjoyed working out, exercising, cooking spending time with my family and rescue Border Collie German Shepard mix.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our first session is designed for us to get to know each other. We generally start with a brief introduction and an overview my approach to therapy. I will then ask questions that will be useful in creating a mutually agreed plan to approach therapy. We then focus on specifics related to the concerns , that motivated you to seek therapy and ultimately identify your treatment goals and what you hope to achieve during our time together.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
I truly believe my purpose is to help others. I want clients to learn to gain self-compassion and understand about themselves without judgement. When working with clients, I understand that the most important aspect is to establish a mutually trusting and respectful relationship. I appreciate the courage and vulnerability it takes to ask for assistance and I do not take your trust for granted. Your autonomy and individuality are respected.
Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.
I enjoy serving adult individuals from various cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds who present with symptoms of anxiety, depression and mood disorders. Individuals may present with distortions in their thinking, low self-esteem, perfectionism, negative thinking patterns. and some skills deficit. Your goals may be to learn new skills, such as identifying unhealthy coping/thinking patterns, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, mindfulness and emotion regulation skills to reduce anxiety and improve your moods. My ultimate goal is to educate about mental health, removed any stigma regarding mental health, teach self-compassion, build awareness, and to ultimately improve your quality of life. At the end of therapy, you can expect to have tools and build awareness of you
