Hi! I'm Kathy, a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 15 years of experience in a variety of outpatient settings working with both adolescents and adults. I primarily focus on anxiety and related disorders, stress management, depression, bipolar disorder, life transitions, LGBTQIA+ identities and related concerns, OCD, and overall wellness. I practice from a trauma-informed perspective and tailor evidence-based treatment modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions, to meet the unique needs of each person. In our therapeutic journey together, you can anticipate a compassionate and collaborative space where your unique experiences, thoughts, and emotions are not only heard but deeply understood. Each session is tailored to your needs, fostering a sense of safety and trust that allows for open exploration and self-discovery. My approach is rooted in empathy, and my goal is to provide you with tools and insights that empower you to navigate life's challenges more effectively.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
In our first session we’ll get to know each other and your reasons for seeking therapy. I’ll provide information about myself and what methods I think would be beneficial. We will talk about any fears or concerns you might have about the therapeutic process, discuss what has been helpful before and what hasn’t, and work on building a sense of trust.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
My greatest strength as a therapist is in the genuine and empathetic connection with clients. My goal is to create a safe environment for open expression. I also practice from an integrative approach which allows space for adaptability to tailor my counseling approach to meet your unique needs. I work to empower my clients to overcome their challenges and build resilience to better manage future struggles.
