I am a licensed clinical psychologist based in Phoenix, Arizona. My specialty is providing assistance to adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma, including complex trauma as well as related issues such as boundary and assertiveness concerns, disordered eating, and substance and behavioral addictions. My ultimate goal is to guide you on your journey towards healing and empower you to become the best version of yourself. I use Interpersonal Neurobiology and the most appropriate therapeutic modality to help you understand your symptoms and teach you strategies to reduce and manage them effectively. My aim is to enable you to live fully in the present and improve your relationships, including your relationship with yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first therapy session, we will discuss your background, experiences, and motivations for seeking therapy. Then, we will move on to talking about your current situation and where you hope to be in the future. This is an opportunity for you to share your goals and aspirations with me and for us to work together to create a plan to achieve them. As we continue our conversation, I will actively listen and ask questions to better understand your needs and concerns. My aim is to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and emotions with me. Overall, our first session is only the beginning of what I hope will be a transformative journey toward healing and personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a psychologist with a keen interest in neurobiology, I enjoy teaching my clients about their minds. I believe that understanding the root cause of symptoms can help in the healing process. When you visit me for therapy, I will listen to you attentively and involve you in making decisions about how we can work together to achieve your goals. Your agenda is my priority, and I believe that sustainable change can be achieved by respecting your values, strengths, and needs as an individual

My treatment methods

Grief Therapy

As a certified grief educator, I offer personalized grief therapy services to individuals who are dealing with the challenging journey of coping with loss. My aim is to provide a caring and supportive environment where clients can explore and process their emotions, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and eventually find healing and comfort in their grief. I understand that each person's grieving process is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to meet the specific needs of each client. I guide clients through the grieving process with empathy, understanding, and practical strategies that help them navigate their emotions and rebuild their lives.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I approach treatment by integrating interpersonal neurobiology, which involves using mindfulness and self-compassion to help clients understand and manage their symptoms of anxiety and depression. My method combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and self-compassion practices to equip clients with the necessary tools and skills to navigate their emotions effectively. By creating a compassionate and non-judgmental space, clients can gain a deeper understanding of their struggles and learn how to cultivate inner peace and resilience.

Brainspotting

As a therapist, I assist my clients in overcoming painful experiences through the use of a therapy technique called brainspotting. This approach involves identifying specific "brainspots" associated with the trauma stored in the brain and body, which helps the clients process it. By using targeted eye movements and mindfulness techniques, I guide my clients towards emotional healing and resolution. Brainspotting is a modern therapy that allows clients to release deep emotions, resulting in personal growth and enhanced emotional well-being.

Trauma Informed Care

I am a certified trauma therapist committed to helping individuals recover from trauma and complex trauma. Using a safe, neurobiologically-informed approach, I employ evidence-based therapies to create a supportive environment where clients can explore their experiences without any fear of judgment. By utilizing talk therapy, somatic techniques, and other interventions, I work with clients to process trauma and develop coping strategies for resilience and healing. My ultimate goal is to empower clients to live full and meaningful lives that extend beyond their traumatic experiences.
