I am a human living this life, right alongside of you. I am a wife, and a mother of 3. I love the outdoors, traveling, hosting events, family gatherings, making people smile and laugh. I don't have a job, I love what I do and instead call it "my passion". I love working with raw human emotion and being. I have experience working with clients who suffer from depression, self-harming activities, PTSD, stress, emotional trauma, Adjustment disorder, Anxiety, relationship issues, Self-esteem issues, Bipolar disorders, grief and loss, among other mental health issues/concerns. I enjoy working with my clients to identify their concerns/goals. My client is the expert on his/her life. We will approach therapy as an active partnership created to assist and guide you with the knowledge and tools needed to make progress towards personal growth and change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, we will establish important points regarding the therapy process and policies. The client will get an opportunity to share about themselves, and the reason for coming to therapy. From there, Therapist will listen to the client and do a diagnostic interview to establish presenting symptoms that might be bothering the client. This way, we will know what to address first. I always give my clients an opportunity to choose whether or not they would like to move forward with me as their provider. Choosing your provider is just as important as every other intentional step in the therapeutic process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I'm told that I am very relational and relatable. I am very empathetic when it comes to the stories and journeys of my clients. I want to see my clients succeed, and I am very invested in the process to see that happen. I am very committed to my clients, and have excelled in creating a very positive therapeutic rapport.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT for almost 10 years now with my clients. CBT allows me to help clients to make connections between their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. CBT operates on the premise that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected, and that changing negative or irrational thoughts can lead to changes in emotional and behavioral responses. I make goals with my clients that involve challenging their negative thought patterns. As the clients become more aware of their negative thought patterns, they are able to learn to reframe their thoughts, which in turn impacts changes in their feelings and behaviors.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I like to use ACT with my clients in order to help them to overcome cognitive challenges, involving working to change the perspective of the client. Changing perspective an help with psychological issues.

Compassion Focused

I often provide CFT to help clients understand "their Human" self. Clients learn to develop awareness of their own emotions, thoughts, and behaviors without judgment or self-criticism. Through mindfulness practices and compassionate imagery exercises, they cultivate a compassionate stance towards themselves. I always encourage them to give themselves grace.

Couples Counseling

I love couples counseling. I work with couples to identify the areas in which they have deficits, learn their motivation for correction, and increase their communication skills in regards to explaining their current needs. Whether the relationship can be, should be, or won't be saved, the goal is to amicably come to a clear and solid decision about how to move forward.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to work with my clients who struggle with BPD, depression, anxiety and Bipolar disorder to name a few. It helps them gain skills in emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness.
