Hi! I am Robyn Houlihan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker born and raised in New York City. I have my Master's degree from Fordham University and over 20 years of experience in crisis, mindfulness, housing, hospitals and outpatient settings. I focus my practice around building a strong therapeutic alliance and use mindfulness practices to help client decrease anxiety and depressed moods. I’m a big believer in helping you find your own self-care methods to ease life related stressors, to help lower anxiety and increase mood.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The connection between a person and their therapist is the most important part of the work and the journey will will take together. Expect the first session to be a mixture of getting to know each others, confirming that I am a good fit for you and exploring the goals you want to work on. The first session may include some basic assessment to help gage your symptoms and ways to help you improve.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My energy and my ability to make people feel comfortable during vulnerable times is one thing that my clients first notice about me. I want to make you feel safe and comfortable your barriers and help provide a welcoming environment to reach your goals.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I like to use techniques to help you find moments to stay present and aware of your daily life while working on distorted thinking pattens that keep you stuck and in anxious or depressed moods.
