Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my biography. I am so happy you went with your instinct to start counseling. I have been a Therapist for over 14 years and my specialization is marriage and family therapy. I have over 30 years experience working with people in one capacity or another. I was a substitute teacher at an alternative high school; I was a silver star rescue diver and an EMT-Intermediate; and, I had worked at a psychiatric hospital for people ages 12 through 80. These few noted experiences have led to my capacity to be an empathetic Therapist while helping others achieve their own goals using their own strengths.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will get to know each other. I will listen to what you are saying and you should feel very relaxed with me.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is being able to empower others. I believe every person has the power and the knowledge of what they need to do to improve their lives. I am here to show you how to do that by communicating your needs and coming up with a solution.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

To understand how our thoughts will lead to a feeling which then leads to our behaviors.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

This treatment utilizes the client's own strengths to achieve their goals.

Couples Counseling

Couples use 5 losing strategies and I can show them how to fix it. Effective communication is key in any relationship. We will go over the possible roadblocks to effective communication.

Family Therapy

When someone feels like they are being blamed, it is common that they respond with defensiveness. Learning "I" statements can help people take responsibility for one's own feelings when describing the problem.

Positive Psychology

Discussion will be made on how positivity can enhance relationships, work, and health, as well as relieving depression. Positive psychology will help broaden one's mind, making one more receptive and creative.
