Hello! I am a New York State licensed Psychotherapist with over 20 years experience. I earned my Masters Social Work Degree from Fordham University in NYC. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approach to highlight how negative thoughts can lead to negative feelings and actions- identifying specific problems or issues in the client's daily life. Becoming aware of unproductive thought patterns and how they can impact the client's life - identifying negative thinking and reshaping it in a way that changes how clients feel-teaching new behaviors and asking clients to put them into practice. My focus is to set treatment plan goals with clients to help them face emotional and behavioral difficulties. I work in collaboration with clients to achieve short-term goals in order to accomplish long-term goals. I am warm, genuine, positive, and engaged. I will build rapport with you, make sure I'm hearing what you're communicating, and establish a therapeutic alliance. I'll listen to your thoughts and feelings and reflect back and facilitate behavioral change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session I'll ask about your symptoms and what brought you to therapy. We may cover your history, education, relationships, career, and current living situation, and agree on your goals and objectives. If you want to make positive changes and think we might be a good fit, please reach out!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Help clients overcome their negative thinking patterns and replace them with healthier, more positive thoughts. Help clients reprogram the negative thinking patterns associated with depression. CBT helps clients identify thought patterns that affect emotions, which in turn, can affect behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

I utilize Motivational Interviewing with clients with Co-occurring Disorders (Mental illness and Substance Abuse). This intervention is effective for problem drinkers, and people who demonstrate resistance to changing problematic Behavior.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Focus on helping clients understand how to interpret their trauma and how it affects their feelings and behavior. Teach how to challenge and modify distorted thought patterns and unhelpful beliefs associated with childhood trauma. Challenging these distorted thoughts and replacing them with positive ones.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Meditation, relaxation and awareness exercises to help clients focus on the present moment, aiming over time to experience day to day situations and stressors in nonjudgmental and non-reactionary ways.
