Is anxiety or depression keeping you from living the life you want? Are you struggling in your relationships? Would you like to communicate more effectively? Do you isolate or avoid situations because of low self-esteem or self-confidence? Is a past trauma haunting and limiting you? Is an addiction interfering with your well-being or relationships? You and I can work together to bring about change: anxiety and depression can be managed effectively. Trauma can be resolved. Addictions can be broken. Life can be better and relationships more fulfilling. With support and guidance, you can build the life you want. I have extensive experience in the fields of mental health and addictions, working with individuals seeking change and the loved ones who want to support them.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll discuss what's getting in the way of your happiness, your well-being and your relationships and what you want to be different in your life. We'll discuss the different approaches I use in therapy and start to explore what might work best for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

All too often people engage in unproductive or even self-sabotaging behaviors. They allow themselves to be limited by fear and anxiety, or they're stuck in an addiction that's interfering with their happiness, well-being and relationships. I help you understand what keeps you trapped in anxiety or addiction and teach you the skills to achieve lasting change.

My treatment methods

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I have been trained in IFS and use it regularly. I find it an incredibly gentle and powerful way to help clients move toward the change they seek.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have had extensive training in TEAM CBT, a specialized and extremely effective method to help people change the way they think in order to change the way they're feeling emotionally.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness practice is central to my work. Through mindfulness, clients increase their awareness of and tolerance for the physical discomfort that accompanies difficult emotions, discomfort that often leads to self sabotaging behaviors. As the tolerance increases, the self-sabotaging behaviors decrease.
