I'm Debra Mayo. I'm an Arizona native who has been practicing for 23 years. I have worked with clients from 5 to 84 years old to resolve symptoms from trauma, mood disorders and addictions. I have been trained in several modalities such as; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Attachment Disorders, EMDR and coming soon Brain training and Emotional Transformation Therapy. I have learned in life that when life presents challenges it's good to have someone along side of you to support you as you face these challenges. I have been this support for many clients and would like to support you as you face these challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will consist of brief introductions and answering any questions clients might have. Background of the challenges clients are facing, as well as what solutions have been tried. Different types of modalities might be discussed if the client has specific requests.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I create a safe environment where patients can feel comfortable to share delicate and painful information they want to work on. I build trust quickly due to my laidback comfortable style of therapy. I have years of success with trauma and addiction clients, who are willing to face their challenges.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Many of the struggles that we face today are based out of the relationships and bonds we had with our caregivers. With attachment-based therapy we explore any connections to needs we had as a child that did not get met.

Christian Counseling

For those clients that are seeking a spiritually based solution and spiritual based connection, this therapy can help them explore connections with their spiritual beliefs and the challenges they are facing.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With Cognitive Behavioral Therapy we explore how thoughts can influence behaviors and how to change those thoughts that are not serving to help us in life's challenges.

EMDR

EMDR is a trauma based modality that using brain stimulation to focus on the body sensations and the thoughts that keep us stuck in our trauma state. I have been using EMDR since 2007 on patients from ages 5 to 84. Patients have reported amazing relief of PTSD symptoms.

Neurofeedback

Using Iasis Micro current Neurofeedback to help stimulate new neuro pathways that can improve relaxation, sleep, calming state. There have been reported improvements with anxiety, depression, ADD, and cravings for substances and process addictions. This therapy is not meant to be a cure, but clients report noticeable changes that can improve the daily functioning.
