I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in Kentucky. I completed my masters degree in social work at the University of Louisville and have been in practice for 8 years. I use a client-centered therapeutic approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR). I have personally experienced many of life's ups and downs and can related to the problems many of my clients are experiencing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

At the initial session, we will begin with brief introductions, and discuss confidentiality and treatment methods I use. I will then gather information about your background, whether you have received therapy services in the past, and your reasons for seeking therapy. I will use the information gathered to collaborate with you to create a treatment plan to meet your individual needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe in every client's worth and their potential to improve their life. I will work very hard to provide a nurturing, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment to help you reduce stress, work through painful feelings, manage self-defeating behaviors, and live a happier and more meaningful life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have worked primarily with clients who have depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have treated clients from all walks of life with a wide assortment of mental health needs. The clients who are most successful are those who are motivated to work toward positive change in their lives.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I have used this successfully with several clients. It is particularly useful when treating trauma, but I have also used it to treat other conditions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have also used this successfully with clients. CBT is typically used to change unhealthy thinking patterns.
