My name is Rebecca Winters, LPC. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Connecticut, I have been practicing for 6 years. I received my Masters from Naropa University, and my Bachelors from Penn. College of Art & Design. My expertise is working with adolescent and young adult individuals that have or currently experience trauma, abuse, addiction, sexual assault, as well as symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction, self-harm, and suicidal ideation. Additionally, I have done work with clients with intellectual disabilities, from the LGBTQ+ community, and individuals who have been incarcerated.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions, and then discuss the challenges that bring you to therapy. We will then come up with goals and a plan for us to work through in following sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our conversations and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

My treatment methods

Humanistic

My therapeutic lens is person centered and humanistic, in which my clients are seen as the expert in their lives. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is important for client growth. I feel that therapy should be an authentic experience, and the client's need to be listened to, valued, and understood is imperative. My goal is to support clients in working towards being the best versions of themselves, and gaining new perspective on life.
