Hello there! My name is Ella Maffei and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been practicing for approximately five years. I have worked with a wide range of clients, from young adult struggling with self-image/anxiety/adjustment to older adults struggling with life transitions/aging/depression. I have also conducted couple's counseling and love to see clients grow and strengthen their couple bond and individual selves. I strive to assist clients in improving the overall quality of their life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will focus on getting to know one another and going over the general aspects of therapy as well as aspects that are specific to only you. We will go through a little of your history as well as your current situation. Then, together, we will identify goals and objectives that you have for your time in therapy. I'll also answer any questions you have. Although therapy can seem intimidating, I try to cultivate a nurturing and pleasant environment! Let's do this together!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think the key to successful therapy is a strong and trusting relationship between the therapist and client. I am committed to working at this with my clients. Therapy sessions are about YOU and YOUR progress. I always keep that in mind and work in full collaboration with my clients. I also have vast experience in decreasing symptoms of anxiety, improving self-esteem/self-image, developing healthier relationships and assisting my clients in their journey of growth and development. I have a gentle approach but make sure to hold my clients accountable - encouraging the same in returns. I would be honored to be a part of your journey!

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I primarily utilize ACT with clients struggling with life changes and adjustments, particularly with the older adult population.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT in order to assist clients in getting out of the “mind trap” of anxiety and depression. It allows clients to regain control of their thoughts and emotions.

Eclectic

I find it is very important to be able to meet clients where they are at. Therapy is not a one size fits all model and I want to make it work for YOU.
