Depression, anxiety, grief and other life changes can prevent you from living a productive life. If you're finding that it has become more difficult to cope with life. If you're feeling overwhelmed. If your problems are interfering with the ability to have positive relationships, perform at work or school, or complete daily task, then I can help you. I can help you develop the right tools and strategies needed deal with current issues and also help you to be better equipped in the future. Over the years, working as a mental health professional, I have helped various types of clients and have come to realize that everyone is able to develop strategies and skills needed to solve their problems. My practice focuses on short-term therapy techniques that can help you reduce stress, cope better, deal with grief and handle other life challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start with introductions and continue with questions needed to complete the intake. I will ask about your past therapy history and your goals for therapy. I generally ask everyone in the first session to describe to me what they want to look like when therapy is over. By the end of the session I'm usually able to formalize a treatment plan and talk about what that will look like. I close the session by scheduling the next appointment visit.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I feel it's better to look at individuals using a comprehensive lens which is the reason why I use a few different treatment methods. I generally use 3 methods of treatment including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT (challenging negative cognitions, maladaptive behaviors, and negative self talk); Solution Focused Therapy (ensuring that you have the tools, resources, and strategies needed to be where you want to be when therapy has ended); Systemic Therapy (understanding how you interact with others on an individual level, identifying stuck points, and exploring how your larger community impacts you personally). I have also found that at least half of my clients are able to benefit from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) which is a traumatic focused therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I've had years of experience working with individuals with, depression, anxiety, grief, and self-esteem issues and feel that these are the areas where I do my best work. As a therapist I'm able to pull from my toolbox of therapeutic interventions to assist clients with their individual treatment plan. Also, as a EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist I have helped a number of clients process trauma which reduces the levels of stress and anxiety.
