Hello! My name is Zoee Byrd and I am an LCMHC. I am based out of North Carolina and completed my Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health through Wake Forest University. I enjoy working with teenagers and adults of all ages through life transitions, general stressors, regulating mood, and overall gaining insight into who they are. I have been striving to help others create their life worth living for the past 3 years.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will ask a series of questions to help me get to understand you, your background, and the reason you reached out for counseling. We will also start working on a tailored plan for your therapy treatment. This will be a great way for me to get to know you, and for you to get to know me and my personality in order to be sure that we will be a good fit.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with all ages, I have grown to understand more about how each life transition can effect the next. I have the experience with enough walks of life to aid you in understanding the root causes so that we can create a plan to adapt and overcome.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have been utilizing a person-centered approach to help meet clients where they are for the past 3 years. I have found that this approach, along with others, can be helpful in validating clients, as well as helping to find and meet their needs. This approach can help to learn more about what is going on underneath the surface of every day life, in order to understand the needs that are not being met and how to further you along in your healing journey.

Psychodynamic

I have utilized a Constructive approach for the past 3 years, which falls into the realm of psychodynamic. Through this approach, I have helped many clients to understand their perception of reality and how their perception of past experiences have led to their perception of current experiences in their daily lives.

Narrative

I have utilized a narrative therapy approach for 2.5 years with clients of all ages. Through this approach, clients are able to distance themselves from the difficult aspects of their reality by creating a narrated version of the experiences or parts of themselves that they do not want to define them.
