I am a fully Licensed Master Social Worker with over 45 years of experience in therapeutic practice in schools, individual, and group counselling. As a facilitator of divorce prevention and recovery, I have assisted many couples and individuals to feel stronger and much more able to manage and improve themselves and their relationships. I have had much success using a client centered self esteem strengthening approach and as a result, have received a sense of satisfaction in my ability to help the clients who choose to work with me.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect a dedicated therapist who genuinely cares and will do as much as he can to help improve how a client feels about himself and how he betters himself in his relationships. The best clients are those who look to improve their own self esteem, self confidence and those who are willing to do the work and make the sacrifices that are sometimes necessary to reach their goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to demonstrate a genuine caring atmosphere with my clients which creates an alliance that a client truly feels comfortable with. I also feel that I am a strong motivator as most clients learn quickly that I am truly committed to helping them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been a part of my practice treatment for well over 30 years now. Most importantly it is evidenced based and has been proven to benefit clients who learn the skills to turn our automatic thoughts around from negative thinking into positive thinking and which in turn produces beneficial outcomes in a clients life.

Couples Counseling

Much of my more recent experience has been focused around the ability of couples to improve and revitalize their relationship skills and especially in regards to fair fighting boundaries and improving conflict resolution abilities. I have had much success in improving relationship skills through teaching kind, caring, compassionate and considerate problem solving skills.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Research has indicated that the strongest contributor to progress in therapy is the client/therapist alliance. Therefore, that is what I work hardest at creating, nurturing and maintaining through out the therapeutic process.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing involves allowing and encouraging the client through questioning and total positive regard. In this method, the client learns to make his decisions based on his acquired knowledge and the feelings and directions that his therapist has helped him to realize
