I have over 25 years as a mental health professional; including a Pupil Personnel Credential in Child Welfare and Attendance. I have worked in jails, homes, hospitals, group homes, law enforcement, school, SUD agencies. That is just geography. The goal is meet the client/family where they are, set obtainable goals and reduce recidivism in all areas of dysfunction. I don't have boundaries with my clients. I am well versed in life and use those natural skills as well as professional development skills to get your life started.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

A meet and greet. Define the problem(s) from the clients point of view. Plan and set measurable achievable goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I find joy in my clients achievements and celebrate their lives by teaching coping, letting go and a good sense of humour in every session.

My treatment methods

Family Therapy

I am licensed to treat a wide range of serious clinical problems including: depression, marital problems, anxiety, individual psychological problems, and child-parent problems.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am proficient in CBT therapy. CBT focuses on challenging and changing cognitive distortions (such as thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes) and their associated behaviors to improve emotional regulation[2][5] and develop personal coping strategies that target solving current problems. Attachment-based

Human beings need to feel secure and loved. I utilize this theory because this theory proposes that children who experience their caregivers as sensitive, responsive, and available develop confident expectations of relational security. They feel the world is a safe place, and they are worthy of being loved and protected.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

This method allows the client and the family to collaborate toward preventative care. It is first and foremost a clinical philosophy of care. It is a therapeutic framework for suicide-specific assessment and treatment of a patient’s suicidal risk. It is a flexible approach that can be used across theoretical orientations and disciplines for a wide range of suicidal patients across treatment settings and different treatment modalities.

Couples Counseling

As a licensed family therapist, I know that every relationship has conflict. Learning how to handle your conflicts cannot only patch up your issues, but it can also make your relationship much stronger. I assist couples with communication, changing narratives and navigating a journey of health, healing and happiness. That is the goal. Often, couples need help navigating relationship issues, regardless of how big or small the perceived problem is. This is where couples therapy comes in. Couples therapy offers you an impartial listener who can help you improve communication, see things from each other’s perspective, and work toward resolving any roadblocks. Couples therapy can also teach you how to set boundaries and develop effective coping techniques for when conflict inevitably does arise.
