My name is Jenelle Hoyt, I am an award winning Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with over 10+ years of experience in the helping profession. As a therapist, I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-esteem and career challenges, as well as emotional and physical trauma to cite a few. I specialize in helping individuals who are not only feeling the stressors of life but also unsure of how to cope with or change these stressors in a positive way. We will work together to create attainable goals that will be reviewed and assessed consistently to ensure that they align with the vision of who you are and want to continue to be.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session, we will spend our time getting to know each other better and understanding all of the moving pieces that are causing you mental/ emotional distress including specific symptoms that you are experiencing. We'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I maintain a judgment-free space that is challenging, encouraging and enlightening. I believe in a process that is positive and retrospective. My approach integrates a multiplicity of practices such as Solution-Focused, Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing and Psychodynamic interventions. I personalize each treatment to meet your individual need.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an effective form of psychotherapy that focuses on the relationship between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This allows clients to analyze their own worldview and how they interact in that world to create the life they want.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT helps clients develop psychological flexibility, enhance their quality of life, and move towards valued living by accepting their experiences, clarifying their values, and taking committed action.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT aims to help clients build a life worth living by enhancing their emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, and overall functioning while reducing self-destructive behaviors and improving their quality of life.

Attachment-based

Attachment-based therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on exploring and healing disruptions in early attachment relationships, typically between children and their primary caregivers.

Existential

Existential therapy is a philosophical approach to therapy that focuses on exploring and addressing fundamental aspects of human existence, such as freedom, responsibility, meaning, and death.
