I’m Zoila (Soy-la) (she/her/hers/ella) a gender affirming Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m a first generation graduate, Latin-X clinician practicing in the Tampa Bay area. I’m currently working with all folks with emphasis on people of color (POC) coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, family conflicts, 2sLGBTQIA+, multicultural issues and women’s issues ages 15 and up.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will develop trust through rapport building, address any questions, barriers and needs. We will discuss clear expectations for session including their Biopsychosocial Assessment and development of treatment plan. We will address tele mental health limitations and risk, providers schedule and attendance policy and safety plan as needed, risk and safety, and mandated reporting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I easily build trust with my patients as they often feel emotionally safe to be vulnerable. I empower folks to remain open to the therapeutic experience and allow their inner wisdom to guide them. I welcome and honor my patient's cultural influences and ancestry. I create an even power container to illuminate to my patients their inner wisdom and control they hold.

My treatment methods

Somatic

I empower adults surviving with trauma through somatic movements and psycho education on trauma impacting our vagus nerve. I empower adults to relearn and return to their safe space to trust their inner wisdom. You will learn to regulate your nervous system in a safe container where you are welcomed authentically.

Racial trauma treatment

I’m currently working with all folks with emphasis on people of color (POC) coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, family conflicts, 2sLGBTQIA+, multicultural issues and women’s issues ages 15 and up. I advocate, engage in community activism, and participate in petitioning and organizing.
