Hello, I'm Jessica. Congratulations on taking this next step in your journey to becoming the best version of yourself! Starting therapy, whether you have never been in therapy before or are trying a new way to connect with a therapist, can be scary, and I hope learning more about me and how I approach therapy helps you feel more comfortable. I specialize in helping people heal from trauma, reduce anxiety, build resilience, and find balance. I have been practicing clinical social work as a therapist in private practice for the past twelve years. I have worked with people of all ages, experiencing a wide range of conditions, including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, autism, and difficulty adjusting to life changes. I am non-judgmental, open, and committed to the core social work values: service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, the importance of human relationships, integrity and competence. I hope that you will feel comfortable sharing your story with me, and that the therapeutic relationship we will build will help you feel welcomed, safe and understood. I wish you the best on your journey, and hope we have the opportunity to work together. *Please note that I am only available for sessions during weekday mornings and afternoon hours. I do not currently have availability for evening sessions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be dedicated to learning more about you and what brings you to seek therapy at this time. We will discuss your strengths and needs, history, and goals. I approach therapy from a holistic, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming perspective, incorporating a number of theoretical perspectives, based on your needs. I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness, and other approaches, to teach skills related to managing stress and reducing anxiety, regulating emotions, identifying and changing negative thought patterns, and improving interpersonal communication. You will leave each session with increased insight and practical steps to take.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Trauma affects the whole self, mind and body. I provide a safe space to tell your story and share how what you have experienced has impacted you. Working through and healing from past trauma doesn’t just include talking about what you’ve been through, it involves healing the nervous system as well, and learning how to reduce stress through mindfulness-based practices.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients identifying as neurodivergent (Autistic, ADHD, etc.) and/or with a history of trauma.
