I have my bachelors degree from Illinois State University and my masters degree from The Ohio State University. I am an Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and have worked in the children services field for over 20 years. I help strengthen individuals and families and strongly believe that someone's past does not define their future. I use motivational interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals address thinking errors and learn different techniques to work through their past.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work well with individuals who are navigating life changes. I do this by a) identifying the root cause of your challenges and (b) creating an individualized plan that leads to measurable progress.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

The primary goal of motivational interviewing is to help individuals identify and resolve their inner conflicts, build self-confidence, and increase motivation to change behaviors that are negatively impacting their lives. This is done by increasing the persons motivation to change and empower the person to make appropriate changes.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT coping skills teach you how to better deal with difficult situations, such as how to relax your body (so your mind can also relax), also changing how you look at circumstances and events so you have more positivity. This is done by recognizing thinking errors and learning new techniques when thinking errors occur.
