Hello! I am a Licensed Independent Clinic Social Worker- Supervisor. I received my doctorate in education, a masters in social work, and a bachelors in criminal justice. I have an extensive background in mental health and substance use. I love the work that I do. I am dedicated to supporting individuals and families with learning what mental health is and how this understanding is an important factor in living your best life.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session we review consent forms. These forms help you to understand your responsibilities and rights as a client. We discuss confidentiality and mandated reporting. We also discuss state regulations and mandates for sessions. We complete an initial assessment. This can be an intense process for some because we talk about history and past psychosocial areas of your health. Finally, we complete the treatment plan. This provides direction for our sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have worked in social services for 17 years. I have a passion for working with marginalized and underserved populations. The increased awareness of mental health being important has decreased stigmas and helped increase individuals access to adequate therapy. I love the work that I do and the people with whom I support.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a common therapeutic intervention used to support multiple conditions in therapy. As a practice approach I utilize CBT as a therapeutic intervention to support with identifying and changing behaviors that present as barriers to your growth. Processing through thoughts is an important part of this process. Feelings typically lead to thoughts which lead to action.

Grief Therapy

People experience different forms of loss (i.e. death, life changes, relationships, employment etc.). My approach to supporting with loss is through application of grief therapy and support.

Psychoeducation

Health literacy is a very important part of my practice approach. Knowledge of your condition and treatment options improves adherence or continuance of care and self-management.

Trauma Informed Care

Unfortunately, many people will experienced trauma in their life time. I am here to support my clients with identifying trauma and processing through how trauma has impacted their lives. Through this process you develop new thoughts and behavioral reactions to trauma induced stress factors. You also learn new ways of coping with identified stressors.
