Hi, I'm Tiffany, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Maryland. I earned my Masters degree in Forensic Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology (DC Campus). Creating a safe space for clients to explore, express and process personal and interpersonal needs is one of my primary goals in therapy. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will work to build rapport. It's understandable going into a session feeling nervous because in essence you're sharing vulnerabilities with a stranger. The first session is our time for brief introductions, I will get to know you, and you can have the freedom to ask questions to get to know me. I will explore what brought you to therapy and ask follow-up questions to understand further, and what I gather, I will use to create the best treatment plan to get you to where you want to be.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked in corrections, and assisting in crisis intervention training for first responders, I have adapted to meet clients where they are when they first come to therapy. Not everyone is at the same starting point, and that's okay.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT in aiding the client to identify troubling situations in their life, become aware of their thoughts, feelings and actions, and the correlation between them, aid the client in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns before working on challenging and reshaping those thoughts and beliefs.

Forensic Psychology

I teach crisis intervention training with law enforcement. I have counseling inmates in the corrections system, along with individuals on probation and parole, providing letters to attorneys that update the courts on the client's progress in treatment.

Grief Therapy

I facilitated grief groups in corrections. When discussing grief, I utilize a foundation of first understanding what it is, validating the client's feelings and working through the rollercoaster that is the emotions associated with it.

Integrative

For some clients, an integrative approach is best used. In terms of meeting the client where they are in their therapy journey and reaching their treatment goals, tools and interventions from other approaches may earn further progress if used alongside one another.

Psychoeducation

I utilize psychoeducation to aid the client in learning about their diagnosis, and to work towards gaining insight and working through barriers to treatment goals.
