Do you want the best quality therapy from the comfort of your home? My name is Jordan Allan and I am a fully Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 10+ years of extensive experience providing mental health services to individuals from all walks of life. Throughout my career, I have successfully been providing effective psychotherapy to clients who would not otherwise have access to services if they were required to go to an office and am here to provide you services at your convenience. Originally, I was born and lived most of my life in London, England where I was fortunate to receive the highest education at the best schools. Later I moved to California where I enrolled in Graduate School at The University of Southern California. I obtained my Masters's and PhD degrees both Summa Cum Laude and with full honors with academic and research-based emphasis on psychiatric practice, integrated care approaches and providing clinical psychotherapy mindful of each client's culture and self-identity. I dedicated myself to providing mental health services to the most at-risk on the streets of Skid Row, out of the JWCH Institute. I worked as part of a highly expert team of professionals to improve and advocate for the lives of all adults in need through psychotherapy primarily. After several years, I chose to gain experience working with children and their families did so by joining Wellnest (FKA LACGC). Working again in-field, I provided mental health services to children and teens while also coordinating with parents and other family members. I have experience and continue to work to provide various assessments, treatment plans, psychotherapy and more via Tele-therapy to meet with adults in a variety of settings remotely. I truly believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion and I make it a priority to do so in every client encounter and session, I always have. I will tailor our dialogue and treatment plan to meet your unique, specific needs to address how your current symptoms affect your health, relationships, job or any other major part of your life. It takes courage to seek out help to address your mental health and to take the first steps towards a more fulfilling life where your symptoms no longer affect your quality of life. I will be here for you every step of the way. I am looking forward to providing you or your loved ones with the help they need.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first appointment I have with clients is begins by getting to know you as it pertains to why you have chosen to seek out therapy at this time. Each person is unique and I will proceed to ask about symptoms you are experiencing, your history and anything else you feel is relevant or that you feel you would like to share. The relationship between a psychotherapist and their client is a unique one in that it is a professional one while at the same time it is one in which your most personal issues are addressed. This session is important because it helps both the potential client and myself determine if it would be a good fit. I encourage my clients in all sessions but especially during the first session to ask questions about the process or emphasize what they are hoping to gain from therapy. At the end of the first session I encourage open communication about how things will proceed and follow up sessions are typically scheduled both parties would like to work together.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

For any treatment method to be successful, a strong, therapeutic relationships needs to be established and that will be a focus primarily in each session. I utilize this as a private space where I assess, learn and help you process whatever your primary concerns and symptomatology while using active listening. I utilize Psychodynamic Methods, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gestalt Therapy depending on your diagnosis. These science-based exercises will explore the fundamental aspects of positive psychology including strengths, values, and self-compassion.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My primary strength is and always will be how much I love my job, I care about every client I take on and look forward to each day I have the privilege to work with. All my clients are provided with my work phone number and my clients are encouraged to get in contact with me should they be experiencing symptoms, any crisis or simply need someone to talk to. My additional strengths come from areas where I have the most experience and passion including mood disorders (including depression), anxiety, PTSD, anger management, eating disorders, and addiction affecting you personally or someone else. A particular specialty that is close to my heart is Chronic Pain and its effect on mental health. I have been recognized at the National level by the American Chronic Pain Association for my contributions and for the curriculum I developed for the Los Angeles Chapter and I continue to seek out the latest conferences, treatment and evidence-based practices for those in chronic pain seeking therapy. I also have significant experience in addiction, anxiety, OCD disorders, eating disorders and intensive evidence based trauma therapy.
