Hi there, Life is an ever-changing and often challenging journey, it’s not uncommon to find yourself feeling confused, frustrated, and stuck. It takes strength and courage to engage in self-exploration and personal growth and therapy can help. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with 10 years of clinical experience. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families in different settings including schools, outpatient clinics, and private practice. I have extensive experience working with individuals and families impacted by trauma and folks who are from multicultural backgrounds and navigating through identity issues. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and non-judgemental space to help you work through the challenges you are facing. I work to empower you through strength-based approaches that encourage self-acceptance and growth. I use a trauma-informed, culturally-sensitive, and intersectional framework throughout our work together to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe that the foundation of therapy is in the strength of the therapeutic relationship. This begins with me providing a safe and comfortable environment centered around respect and support. Our journey together will focus on getting to know you, and collaboratively we will work to untangle mixed emotions, find words for lost and confused feelings, and identify action steps to help you reach a sense of joy and fulfillment.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

My work is guided by person-centered therapy principles and I value building and maintaining a consistent and supportive therapeutic relationship with my clients. I also incorporate a variety of evidence-based approaches depending on my client’s individual needs. These include trauma-informed care, CBT techniques, ACT skills, and mindfulness-based interventions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Being a first-generation Chinese American myself, my biggest strength is my strong interest and experience working with issues related to racism and oppression, multicultural adjustment, identity development, trauma, and grief.
