I have always had a passion to help others! I was the kind of kid who took Halloween candy to school to help kids who were crying feel better. I definitely think my innate compassion and my passion for helping others definetly comes across in my work. I combine this with my knowledge, ongoing education, and experience to give the highest quality of care to my clients! I have been a licensed professional counselor with over 7 years of experience in working with a wide range of mental health disorders. I believe this brings a level of wisdom and experience to the services I offer my clients. In order to enhance my services, I completed extra coursework and training to render high-quality and knowledgeable. Through my experiences, I have had a particularly strong background in helping women and adolescents navigate various life challenges, including academic/job-related stress, past relationship violence/ trauma, anxiety, and depression, among others. I enjoy seeing the success of my clients!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients can expect to discover and learn practical skills to actively manage their identified challenges while receiving genuine and compassionate support. My goal is to have clients feel confident, equipped, validated, understood, and educated in managing their life difficulties in order to make lasting life changes! I would describe my style as: Compassionate Empowering Direct Open-minded Empathetic

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Non-judgmental- I believe that everyone has experienced different things and there is a reason they feel and think the way they do. My job is to help them solve their problems. I think judgement adds a level of burden onto people that have likely experienced so much already in this world.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a widely-used therapeutic approach that focuses on changing negative thought patterns and behaviors. By exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, CBT helps individuals develop coping strategies for various challenges. Through collaboration with a trained therapist, clients learn to reframe unhelpful thoughts and cultivate healthier responses to stressors. Over time, this process can lead to improved emotional well-being and adaptive problem-solving skills.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a type of psychotherapy that combines cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness practices. It aims to help individuals develop skills in emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. DBT is especially effective in treating conditions such as borderline personality disorder and chronic suicidal thoughts. By focusing on acceptance and change, DBT empowers individuals to create meaningful shifts in their thoughts, behaviors, and relationships.
