I have been in the field of social services for almost 20 years, focusing mainly on child welfare. For the past 10 years, I have been a Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in a Child Advocacy Center, heavily in the field of Foster Care and Adoption, and the school system. I have a passion for seeing people reach their full potential, learn better ways of coping with life's stresses, and healing from past hurts.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Our first session is a time for you to see if this will be a good fit, as that is the most important part of a therapeutic relationship. I understand that it can sometimes take more than one session, but I hope that you will get a good idea of how we might work together. We will discuss confidentiality and your expectations for therapy. I will also want to hear more about what brings you to therapy so that I can begin to create a plan for us to work through.
Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.
Having worked in child welfare for almost 20 years, I am able to recognize how past hurts and traumas can play a role in current functioning. This enables me to work with you to identify the cause of your challenges and develop a plan to address them.
