Along life’s journey, we can experience feelings of sadness, confusion, fear, self-doubt, anger, shame, loneliness, distrust and uncertainty in ourselves, others and/or society at large. At times, past trauma, grief and fear can be activated, leaving us feeling stuck, or leading us to impulsive and/or unhelpful decisions to change the way we feel-at least in the moment. If you’re encountering emotions, behaviors or patterns that leave you, your relationships, and/or life goals out of alignment with what you hope for, I invite you to partner with me in a compassion-based therapeutic space. My approach is to support you in moving through your challenges with greater ease, finding and discerning your truths, uncovering additional strengths, gaining practical skills, and enlivening a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in your life. I have been fortunate to work with people from different cultures, religions, philosophical orientations, traditional and non-traditional family forms, youth to elders, and all sides of the socio-economic spectrum. I love people, their stories, and believe that within each human being, gifts are given to be recognized, expressed and increase positive emotion and a felt sense of holistic well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I'll learn more about you, your challenges, what you're hoping to feel and experience in your life. You'll feel my presence and you'll feel heard.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and somatic approaches. I find it helpful to assist you in identifying your automatic thoughts, your beliefs, and your physical experience of tension and ease. I support you in seeing how thoughts, behaviors and tension in your body impact how you feel and I support you in releasing the unhelpful thoughts and behavioral patterns. I also believe that ancestral ties, historical and societal events can impact individuals and their behaviors.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I find my greatest strengths are in working with adults who seek deeper insights into the nature of their lives, the choices they've made and are making now, and can lean into the truth that even those that have been touched by sorrows, trauma, fears and/or emotional wounds can find a deep sense of meaning, healing, and courage to encounter life, to believe in themselves and others, and ultimately say "yes" to yourself and the precious life you have!
