I am licensed in Florida with over 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, lgbt-related issues, trauma and abuse, & coping with grief and loss. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session together will always be a clinical interview. This will look like me asking many questions about different areas of your life and gathering a clear picture of your habits, your childhood, and your family dynamics. The purpose of this interview is to formulate a provisional diagnosis and I will share this with you at the end of our first meeting.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work best with individuals, families, and couples dealing with mood disorders (depressive disorders, bipolar disorders), anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, specific phobias) and trauma-related disorders (PTSD, C-PTSD). Addiction does not discriminate and most of the clients I have treated have had co-occuring (substance use disorders + mental health disorders).

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I started my career in 2012 utilizing CBT in a community setting to help children and their families with behavioral problems. I use CBT regularly in my treatment of depression and anxiety. This may look like specific homework assignments and tasks between sessions.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I have utilized Mindfulness-based Cognitive therapy (MBCT) in group and individual sessions since 2020. This approach may look like doing specific meditations or psychological exercises during and in between sessions. This may also include breathing exercises, homework, and tasks between sessions.

Eclectic

I have a basic certification in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) since 2021. ART is similar to Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy (EMDR). Both therapies use bilateral stimulation and have both been proven effective for the treatment of PTSD and other disorders. I tailor each client's treatment plan to their own specific and unique needs and utilize this treatment method when appropriate. This may look like tapping on the body or moving the eyes with a stimulus while you imagine an issue or problem.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I have worked with CPT in community settings to address trauma-related disorders since 2019. This may look like writing and re-writing about traumatic or upsetting events and processing the emotions and thoughts in session. Typically some work is done to establish safety before we tackle this task.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I trained with the method in graduate training, between 2011-2012. I use it as needed. This may look like questioning surrounding times your problem/issue did not exist.
