Are you struggling in your daily life to manage intrusive thoughts or to keep yourself feeling "happy"? Are you struggling in your relationships to feel like you're "enough" or to feel like you're appreciated? Do you often wish you had someone to talk to about some of the things you're experiencing to figure out a way to "fix" things you're unhappy with? Hello, My name is Jacqueline Adams (she/her). I have worked as a mental health therapist in various settings for the past five years. I have worked with people working on problems related to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and PTSD (among other diagnoses). I seek to help empower people to feel like they can address their concerns as well as to develop hope and optimism that things can improve. I work with clients to develop interventions they can use in day-to-day life to help them manage anxiety/depression or other difficulties they experience.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session we talk a bit about what you would like to work on with me. I very much treat this session as an interview for you to "get a feel" for me to see if I'm someone you would feel comfortable opening up to and working with.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, I think I'm unique as I really listen to what clients feel will be most supportive to helpful to them- empowering you to take control of your treatment. I am also very warm and personable so it doesn't feel like work talking to me.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to use CBT to track patterns on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are affecting identified problems and to try to use the pattern to develop coping skills or reframes to address cognitive distortions.
