Hi, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) currently based in the state of Nebraska. I received a Master's Degree from Adelphi University of Social Work at Long Island, New York and have been a practicing therapist for approximately 10 years. I worked for the US Department of Veteran's Affairs as a mental health therapist and certified trainer for (IPT) Interpersonal Psychotherapy for Depression. I worked with veterans and their families treating a variety of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, trauma (including sexual abuse), panic attacks, eating disorders and addictions. I also have a lot of experience and a long history of success with couples and marriage counseling.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with a brief introduction, then review the specific challenges you're facing. This will move us forward into developing a tailored plan for us to work through during our follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Over the years I've discovered that many of my clients struggle with negative thoughts and emotions that are generated by thinking errors, or what is commonly referred to as cognitive distortions. (e.g.: I'm not a good person, I can't change my circumstances, no one likes me, I can't do anything right). Helping my clients identify, challenge and change these negative thinking patterns has frequently resulted in a rapid reduction in depression and anxiety as well as an improvement in their overall quality of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Many of my clients are struggling with negative thoughts and emotions which are unknowingly impacting their mood, sleep and relationships. Cognitive behavioral therapy CBT is an evidenced based therapy that can help you return to normal functioning and dramatically reduce anxiety depression and insomnia within as little as 5 to 7 sessions.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

CPT have been very successful in helping clients restructure their thinking and regain power over negative thoughts and emotions within only a few weeks' time. One powerful example used in these protocols include identifying cognitive distortions or 'thinking errors' that negatively impact a person's mood, relationships and sleeping pattern.

Christian Counseling

As a result of counseling hundreds of people for a variety of mental health conditions, I 've discovered that there are times when spiritual conflicts have contributed to and in some instances even resulted in severe depression and anxiety. Helping clients resolve these conflicts can often result in a rapid recovery from anxiety, depression, panic attracts and even insomnia.

Couples Counseling

While employed with the United States Department of Veteran's Affairs as a mental health therapist, I performed both couples and marriage counseling for seven years with excellent results. Through the process of solution-focused and emotion-focused therapy, clients have successfully been able regained the intimacy and closeness in their relationship they once enjoyed.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is an effective therapy that involves enhancing a client's motivation to change by means of four guiding principles: helping the client to overcome their fear and resistance to change, understand the clients' own motivations, listening with empathy and empower the client to achieve their goals.
