Hi. My name is Christine Toler, Chris, and I earned my Ed.S and LPC- MHSP in the state of Tennessee, and New Jersey. I have been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 2010, and a School Counselor since 2006. I started being a believer in therapy when it first helped me over forty years ago, (as a child). I thought what a wonderful way to get to the root of the problem... and get rid of it. Since then I have been working on myself as a client as well as acquiring a licensure to help others, including teens, adults and families. I focus on solution based and non-judgmental cognitive therapy. I believe understanding a problem is not the end of the work. The action we take to support a positive change... is what changes lives. And while I have experienced that in some very important areas... I continue to grow... daily. I choose to be transparent about that because I believe it is important to the work that my clients know I understand how it feels to be in their chair. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, doubt, guilt, grief, or all of the above, I believe I can help you.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Just for you to let me know what is going on with you and your life, and more specifically, what is causing you to worry and not feel well. Then we will take it from there. I find weekly sessions most helpful, but I will see you bi-weekly if you feel that is enough for you.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I focus on solution- based and non-judgmental cognitive therapy. I believe understanding a problem is not the end of the work, but many people benefit from the education piece of psychology so that can apply directly to their own story.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I think my biggest strength in this profession is before I felt ready to be a therapist.... I knew I had to get to a place where I realized if I went through what I went through in therapy and life, imagine the variables that contribute to our different situations and struggles. I think like that and that may be a strength I have working with people.
