I believe in the value of building a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship to tap into your internal strength, self-expertise, and self-expression to promote growth and support healing. I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, #126521, in California, and I graduated with a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in Expressive Arts Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies in 2015.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Initially we will identify what's most important to work with in therapy relative to the context of your life and background and begin to explore what will be helpful and relevant insights. I work from a Person-Centered foundation utilizing approaches and interventions such as Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and others to meet the needs of each individual client. Expressive Arts Therapy (the use of music, visual arts, writing, and other arts in therapy) is a powerful tool which can support growth and increasing awareness in conjunction with talk therapy interventions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work from a trauma-informed perspective, with training and clinical experience to approach therapy through the lens of the complex influence trauma can have on all aspects of our lives. I strongly value diversity and utilize a multicultural perspective in support of social equality. I have a personal background as a musician, with a passion for song-writing and exploring sound.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

Looking at how early dynamics with caregivers and previous relationships can influence relationship dynamics going forward, with the goal of increasing potential for feeling of security in relationships.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe the client is the expert in their own life and will look to you regarding what's important to work on, and I use positive regard to support the client in their capacity for personal growth.

Narrative

Exploring how we view the story of ourselves, disentangling identity from challenges and societal influences, and finding ways to rewrite the narrative that are more accurate and affirming of one's true value.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Exploring thought patterns particularly negative ones that are not serving one's best interest or create challenges.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Acknowledging the present experience with it's challenges then turning attention to grounding sources such as the breath, the body, what's in front of us, and what engages us in a positive manner.
