Hello and welcome. I'm Jessica, and I am here to help you take the first steps toward changing your life for the better. Even though change can be difficult, we will do this together. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor for 18 years in the state of Pennsylvania. I have a Master's Degree in Counseling as well as a degree in Psychology and Sociology. I have over 20 years experience in working with adults, couples, teenagers, and families. My clinical interests include working with individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depressed mood, obsessive compulsive disorder, anger issues, bipolar disorder, stress management concerns, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, relationship problems, and trauma-related concerns. We'll begin by working together to prioritize the concerns that brought you to therapy. Then I will assist you in identifying skills and interventions to help you change your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as you move toward a healthier and happier life. I will help you set realistic goals for yourself and support you in achieving them, and I will offer a safe environment for you to discuss your concerns. I look forward to meeting you and working with you. “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it." ---Helen Keller---

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our initial intake session, we will build rapport, discuss your concerns and goals for therapy, and work on prioritizing your concerns so that we can have a clear direction for additional therapy sessions. We will then proceed with sessions that are helpful in teaching you the tools that you need to effectively manage your concerns.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in helping adults work through times of transition or stress. This differs for everyone. It may be that we need to work through challenging negative thoughts. Or it may be that we need to talk about how to navigate your relationships with others. We may need to manage work stress. Or we may need to talk about coping with symptoms of anxiety or depression. Let me help you make long-term changes that will assist you in improving the quality of your life.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I prefer to work with adults from age 18-64. I prefer to work with individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, stress management issues, relationship concerns, self-esteem issues, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary approach to therapy for over twenty years. I use this modality to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and to work toward changing them to help you overcome barriers to being the best version of yourself.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I am a Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider. This is an evidence-based practice that helps you to learn how to challenge and modify unhelpful beliefs related to trauma that has occurred in your life. This will help you to create a new understanding of traumatic events and reduce the negative effects of trauma in your life.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I am certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) which is an evidence-based practice that can assist you in developing coping strategies for traumatic stress reactions. We will work on reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and PTSD which are common if you have been exposed to trauma.

Daialectical Behavior (DBT)

I am trained as a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provider. In therapy, we will work on creating a balance between validation of your concerns and the benefits of change. As your therapist, I will help you to learn new skills related to better emotion regulation, increased tolerance for stressful situations, and improved interpersonal effectiveness skills.
