I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Southern California. I received my Masters from the University of South Carolina in 1996 and have been practicing for 28 years. I have worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, group homes and long-term inpatient units. I have been providing therapy through telehealth since 2013. I enjoy learning from people in all walks of life while helping them resolve their struggles and live their best lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session I will gather demographic and background information as well as exploring the current challenges you are facing. We will create a care plan together that we will work through in our sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I love working with people that have all types of backgrounds and life experiences. I really enjoy learning from everyone as we work towards making their lives better. I have experience with lots of different therapy approaches but I am not married to any specific one. I honestly just like to go with whichever approach works best for each individual person. Therapy is a serious matter but I am not always a serious person - I love to try and make therapy fun in any way I can.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe that CBT is an amazing and effective tool that we can use in almost any situation. I love to use CBT to help people understand how their thoughts impact almost every aspect of their day-to-day lives. Your thoughts determine whether you have a fabulous day or a horrible day and you are in control of those thoughts.

Strength-Based

It is extremely easy to think of our weaknesses and faults and quite a bit harder to fully appreciate our strengths and successes. I really enjoy helping people recognize their internal and external strengths and use these strengths to better their lives.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

When people think about going to therapy, they may imagine having to process all the bad things that have happened in their lives, from childhood to present day. However, this is not always true. Solution focused therapy helps people develop coping skills to deal with their problems based on their strengths and the things that are working in their lives. It is extremely rewarding to assist people in pinpointing where they are successful and using those skills to resolve issues in areas where they might be struggling.
