I am a down to earth person that realizes that starting counseling can be seem challenging. I understand that we are getting to know each other. Take your time. I am happy to work at your speed. Feel free to contact me and we will move forward with setting up services. I am happy help in any way I can. With therapy experience since 2013, working with individuals, such as children, men, and women, couples, and families; focusing on trauma victims, individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, addiction, parenting, and relationship issues. Much of my experience is working with families involved with the Department of Child Services and juvenile probation. I am a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral therapist. I am also a Credentialed Sexually Abusive Youth Clinician (CSAYC) working with youth with Sexually Maladaptive Behaviors (SMB). In my experience, I have specialized in trauma, addiction, and relationship issues.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session is an Intake Assessment, which means that the primary goal of the session is getting informed consent from you, as a client, and gathering information about what brings you to counseling. It will be different than every other session following it, which will be more conversational. So, in the first session, I will be asking many question which may or may not relate to your situation, but are important for me to ask. I may or may not have recommendations or suggestions, in the Intake Assessment. But, I would recommend giving yourself 3-4 sessions to give yourself the chance determine if I am a good fit for you or not.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Mindfulness-based therapies, Behavioral approaches, and other modalities, such as Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy are evidenced-based therapies in individual therapy. Emotion Focused Therapy is effective in relationship therapy. Structural Family Therapy is helpful in family therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I approach treatment from a trauma-informed perspective. This means that many of our behavioral, physical, social, and spiritual problems are the result of trauma. Among my clients, I have found trauma, such as neglect, emotional, physical, and sexual trauma, or grief, very common. Many clients also find me because I focus of attachment, relationships, and sexual dysfunction. In this area, my clients frequently struggle with both Anxious and Avoidant attachment styles. This frequently prevents them from having the sexual relationships they want. This could include pornography, erectile dysfunction, delayed organism, and female sexual arousal and orgasm issues.
