Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Connecticut. I received my Masters from the University of Bridgeport and have been practicing for 4 years. I help young adults struggling with substance abuse and co-occuring mental health disorders. I am dedicated to supporting individual on their journey to recovery and wellness. Through a compassionate and personalized approach, I provide a safe space for clients to explore the underlying factors contributing to their substance use and develop effective coping strategies.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first therapy session together, you can expect a warm and welcoming environment where your comfort and confidentiality are prioritized. We’ll begin by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy and what you hope to achieve. I’ll take time to know you, your background, and your current challenges. Together, we’ll establish goals for therapy and begin to explore potential treatment approaches that best suit your needs and preferences. You can ask any questions you may have about the therapy process and we’ll work collaboratively to create a plan that a supports your journey towards recovery and well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist providing substance abuse treatment and being in recovery myself, I bring a unique perspective and understanding to our sessions. In addition, i bring a compassionate and empathic approach creating a safe space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I am dedicated to fostering a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust, respect, and collaboration. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

As a therapist, my experience with CBT has been incredibly positive. In my practice I typically start by collaborating with clients to identify their specific goals and concerns. Then together, we work to identify and challenge any distorted or unhelpful thoughts that may be contributing to their distress. This often involves using techniques such as cognitive restructuring, where clients learn to replace irrational beliefs with more realistic and balanced ones.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

As a therapist, my experience with DBT has been immensely rewarding. In my practice, I utilized comprehensive skills training component of DBT, which includes mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness

Trauma Informed Care

I am trained in a trauma focused therapy called Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which is a relatively newer form of psychotherapy that combines elements of several traditional therapeutic approaches, including CBT, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and visualization techniques. In my practice, I use ART primarily to treat trauma related disorders such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, and other mental health concerns. ART is particularly effective for addressing traumatic memories and experiences, as it helps clients process and reframe these memories in a safe and efficient manner.
