I believe that everyone deserves to have access to mental health services and support, regardless of their background or circumstances. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for individuals to explore their thoughts and feelings, and to empower them to make positive changes in their lives. Through my work, I have witnessed the transformative power of therapy and the impact it can have on individuals and their families. I am passionate about helping others navigate their mental health journey and find healing and growth. I strive to approach each client with empathy, understanding, and cultural sensitivity. I am committed to ongoing education and training to ensure that I am providing the best possible care for my clients. I believe that everyone has the capacity for healing and resilience, and I am honored to be a part of my clients' journeys towards greater mental health and well-being. If you are considering therapy, I encourage you to take that first step towards prioritizing your mental health – it can be a life-changing decision.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My clients can expect to have a safe space to process their feelings and thoughts. To feel understood and have their family/cultural system be assessed. To gain coping skills, strategies to help cope with their life changes/transitions, build their self-esteem/confidence, identify why one behavior is the way it is, how it connects to their thoughts and emotions. There will be a focus on your communication skills, assertiveness skills, how to set appropriate boundaries and limits in order to regain a life that you can identify as healthy, peaceful and reduce stress/dysfunction. Finding a right fit with a therapist is important and this is something that i am mindful of and this will be a collaborative process. My part of role as your therapist will be to help you learn coping skills, work on the necessary skill building and interpersonal skills, address any trauma while decreasing negative behaviors. Thought our work using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, you will learn to identify your thoughts, feelings and actions are not working for you, your triggers and patterns, how to identify and rectify these issues, reducing overall frequency, intensity, and duration of said identified issue so that your daily functioning is not impaired. Before we can set up an appointment for our first session, eligibility will be verified and an intake package has to be completed via email and return to provider/therapist.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am able to actively listen and provide support, validation, and guidance to help clients work through their issues and achieve their goals. My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a skill-based approach to talk therapy. When you start CBT, you and your therapist will work together to identify your individual problems and concerns. You’ll also learn to integrate strategic techniques in response to these issues.

Humanistic

Some common humanistic therapies include person-centered therapy, gestalt therapy, and existential therapy. In person-centered therapy, the therapist provides a safe, non-judgmental space for the client to explore their thoughts and feelings. The therapist focuses on empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness to help the client develop self-awareness and self-acceptance. Gestalt therapy emphasizes the importance of the present moment and the holistic experience of the individual. Clients are encouraged to become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to gain insight into themselves and their relationships. Existential therapy focuses on the individual's search for meaning and purpose in life. Clients are encouraged to confront their existential concerns, such as death, freedom, isolation, and meaninglessness, in order to live more authentically and fully. Overall, humanistic therapy seeks to empower individuals to take control of their own lives and become more self-aware, self-accepting, and self-actualized. It can be a helpful approach for those looking to explore their potential for personal growth and development.

Multicultural

The goal of multicultural therapy is to promote understanding and respect for the diverse backgrounds and experiences of individuals. By incorporating cultural factors into therapy, the therapist can help you explore how your cultural identity and experiences may influence your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationships. This approach also aims to address any cultural barriers or conflicts that may impact your well-being. In multicultural therapy, the therapist may use culturally sensitive techniques, interventions, and perspectives to support your mental health and personal growth. This could involve exploring cultural values, beliefs, traditions, family dynamics, social norms, and experiences of discrimination or oppression. By acknowledging and validating your cultural identity, multicultural therapy can help you feel seen, heard, and understood in a way that honors your unique background and perspective. This can lead to increased self-awareness, self-acceptance, and empowerment as you navigate mental health challenges or life transitions within the context of your cultural identity.

Trauma-Focused CBT

With Trauma-Focused CBT, Clients develop a narrative of the traumatic event(s) and process any negative beliefs to: Improve communication and problem-solving skills Enhance feelings of self-worth and self-esteem Promote a sense of empowerment and control Address any symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other mental health issues Involve the young person's family or caregivers in the therapy process Provide education and support for parents or caregivers on how to best support the young person Monitor progress and make adjustments to treatment as needed Help the young person build resilience and develop healthy coping mechanisms for future challenges
