As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#142738), I specialize in trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, life transitions, anxiety, and depression, I am passionate about supporting adolescents and young adults on their journey to well-being. My commitment to being client-centered means that I prioritize your unique experiences, values, and goals throughout our work together. I am someone who is passionate about the work I do and want clients to feel validated and seen; sometimes for the first time in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Building a trusting and comfortable therapeutic relationship is priority. I'll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, your expectations, and any specific goals you may have. This helps me tailor our approach to best meet your needs. It's essential that you feel comfortable and empowered in the therapeutic process. My aim is to empower you with the tools and insights necessary for positive change and personal growth.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My approach is client-centered, empathetic, and collaborative. I believe in creating a warm and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable exploring and expressing your thoughts and feelings. I recognize the strength within each person and tailor my therapeutic interventions to address your specific needs. I view the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, with your goals and preferences guiding the direction of our work.

My treatment methods

Trauma Informed Care

I am understanding of the concerns and sensitivity that comes with talking about trauma. As a trauma informed therapist, I will have you open up on your own terms, but be encouraging to open up to make sure we can process it together.

Gender-affirming therapy

I will accept you wherever you are on your gender journey. One day you may want to be called by one name and pronouns, and the next time I see you, it's a different name and pronouns. To me, I want you to be able to explore those topics with me. I always use gender neutral terms when writing notes.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

You are the guide to therapy and your own story. I will be curious, but never push you to talk or do things in sessions that won't benefit you. If you need me to be more the driver in sessions, I will be that, but I am also along for the ride as I help you explore yourself.
