Greetings! I'm LaKetia Baker, a clinical therapist with expertise in assisting individuals, couples, and families who have undergone trauma, betrayal, and abuse. My primary goal is to empower clients to embark on a purposeful healing journey, where they can acknowledge, embrace, and embrace their self-worth, while actively improving their relationships and daily lives. I am trained in EMDR and eager to provide support to clients who are prepared to embrace positive change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start by establishing a connection through brief introductions. Following that, we will conduct a thorough biopsychosocial assessment to gain a comprehensive understanding of your individual circumstances. Once we have a clear picture of your situation, we will explore the goals you have set for yourself and work together to develop a personalized treatment plan. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to inquire about the therapist's treatment modalities, experience, and expertise to ensure you feel informed and comfortable throughout the process.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is that I have lived experience that helps me to understand the needs of my clients. That experience helps me to empower my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT help individuals identify and challenge negative or unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that may contribute to emotional distress or problematic behaviors.

EMDR

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapeutic approach that is often used to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. The goal of EMDR is to help the individual reprocess traumatic memories in a way that reduces their emotional intensity and negative impact. This is done by targeting specific memories or aspects of the traumatic experience while simultaneously engaging in the bilateral stimulation.
