Do you ever feel like nobody is listening to you? or trying to help you make sense of your struggle? Do you feel that what you are going through makes you feel alone like nobody gets you? Been there...I get it...and I feel you. I will be the first to admit that I don't understand everything but I have enough life experience, to relate to you on some level. I try my best to build our work together on trust, integrity, understanding, and honesty. I work best with individuals who are willing to do the work, the hard work so that you can create an empowered life and improve your quality of life. I focus on issues that include: anxiety, alcohol use/abuse, marijuana use/abuse, depression, psychosis (first episode), life transitioning, and trauma. I work with ages 14 and older, veterans, men and women. I offer group counseling services for substance abuse (alcohol & marijuana), and specialty services for immigrants such as forensic mental health evaluations and adulting courses.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be an assessment and/or going over the intake and any other paperwork. The sessions are 45-50 minutes long, with the initial 20 minutes to discuss paperwork and the last 25 minutes we will discuss your concerns, so that you can walk away feeling heard and seen. At the end of the first session, the individual will schedule a follow-up session and will be assigned homework for the following week.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is speaking with you directly. I treat you with mutual respect. My biggest strength is helping you become comfortable with being uncomfortable. We work through your discomfort together.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help individuals identify the thoughts that people struggle with which prevents them from moving through the trauma of the past so that the present creates a better future.

Couples Counseling

My experience with couples counseling allows couples to reinvent their relationships by understanding how each individual contributes to the creation of a relationship that they chose to have. Each couple that I work with will learn better communication skills, better relationship skills, and intimacy. I work all couples and their problems with relating to one another. My goals for each couple is to have the longevity and happiness that they look for as individuals and as a unit. I work best with couples who are committed to the process, and understand that the process of therapy can be a journey which is not a race to see which person makes it to couples "nirvana" first, but how they grow to fall deeper in love with each other daily. If that is the couples goal. We problem solve together.

Motivational Interviewing

I use this method to introduce you to what motivates you to move from one stage of change to another and help you determine if you willing, able, or ready to make the changes you seek.
