I am a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, and adults around their mental health needs. Through therapy, I help clients experience relief from feelings of shame, relationship struggles, career frustrations, anxiety, depression, and inner criticism. I utilize a holistic, culturally-responsive, trauma-informed approach in supporting clients in identifying their emotions, triggers, and patterns in behaviors, to cultivate more sustainable coping skills and make long-lasting changes in their lives.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

First sessions consists of brief introductions, discussing reasons for seeking therapy, and therapeutic goals. During this session, I will ask for some background information (i.e. cultural background, current support system, significant past trauma). We also discuss confidentiality and I am open to answering any questions regarding therapy. This session serves as an opportunity for clients to discuss what they're looking for in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I am very authentic and genuine in my approach! I believe that therapy is a collaborative practice in supporting clients reach their goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Through CBT, I support clients in learning how to identify and change the destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on their behavior and emotions.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is a collaborative approach in which you evoke change through guided questioning.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT focuses on helping people change unhelpful thought patterns, and incorporates mindfulness, acceptance and distress tolerance, and interpersonal skills to give you more tools for dealing with hard situations.

Strength-Based

Strength-Based approach focuses on abilities, knowledge and capacities rather than deficits, or things that are lacking.

Psychodynamic

Psychodynamic approach emphasizes unconscious processes and unresolved past conflicts as influences on behavior.
