Hello! I am Agustina. I am a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than 5 years of experience. I graduated from Palo Alto university in 2019 and worked at county based community agencies as well as hospitals. I have helped patients to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety in order for them to have a more rewarding life. I have also worked with patients that had experienced profound grief, extensive trauma, as well as patients with psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia and bipolar. I have experience working with Hispanic populations and I can conduct my therapy sessions fully in Spanish.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our initial visit, I will be more directive. I will ask you about your symptoms, what brought you to therapy and also I will be asking you a variety of questions in order for me to assess what would be the best course of action in order to help you manage your symptoms. The following sessions will be less directed and you'll have more time to talk about what is in your mind freely.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I will be on your side, I will be supportive of you during every step of therapy. I will be consistent and you'll know what to expect from me.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I have extensive experience working with adults, helping them heal from traumatic events, complex trauma and adverse childhood experiences as well as helping them manage symptoms of depression, anxiety, grief, relationship and/or family problems.

My treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I recognize the deeply rooted beliefs unique to each patient's culture while avoiding imposing dominant cultural perspectives. I integrate cultural beliefs into the therapeutic frameworks.

Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)

Humans are wired for resilience. I utilize attachment theories, body focused and other disciplines to help patients navigate through emotional challenges. I help my patients uncover and draw on their own innate coping mechanisms to manage their trauma and move toward flourishing.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I help patients to behave more consistently with their own values and to apply mindfulness and acceptance skills to their responses to uncontrollable experiences in order to help them to live a more fulfilling life.

Attachment-based

I help patients to look at their connection between early attachments experiences in order to help my patients to develop and/or rebuild a trusting, supportive relationship that will help prevent or treat anxiety and depression

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I aid patients to identify and challenge negative thoughts patterns that are preventing them from living a happy and meaningful life.
